Best AI tools for Roblox Studio in 2026

How the AI tools for Roblox actually differ — how they connect to Studio, what they cost, and which one fits how you build.

Updated October 23, 20268 min read

There are now dozens of AI tools for Roblox, and most “best of” lists are written by one of them. This one is too — we make Rateblox — so instead of a ranking, here is how the tools differ, what each costs, and which kind fits which creator. Everything below was checked on the tools' own sites in October 2026; where we couldn't check, we say so.

Four kinds of AI tools for Roblox Studio

  • Studio agents connect an AI to your open Studio through a plugin. They read your place, build, script and often playtest. Rateblox, Lemonade, Ropilot, Superbullet and RoCode are in this group.
  • Roblox's built-in Assistant lives inside Studio and is made by Roblox.
  • General chatbots — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — write Luau you paste in, or work directly in Studio through an MCP connection.
  • Asset generators make icons, thumbnails, UI images or 3D models that you then import. ForgeGUI is the best-known example.

How to choose

Start with what's free

If you have never used AI in Studio, open Roblox's Assistant first. It costs nothing and shows you what an AI can and can't do in your place. We wrote a fair comparison of Rateblox and Roblox Assistant for when that stops being enough.

Look at how it changes your place

Some agents edit Studio directly; others sync your place to files and edit those. Direct edits are easier to follow and undo; file sync suits people using Git and Rojo. Either way, keep publishing to Roblox so you have version history.

Check whether it tests its own work

The biggest difference between a demo and a game is testing. Tools that run Play, read Output and fix their own errors save you the most time. Ask for a test after every feature, whatever tool you use.

Watch how usage is counted

Credits, prompts, tokens and actions are all different units. A cheap plan with tokens can run out in one long session; a credit plan is easier to predict. Read what one unit buys before comparing prices.

Know what no tool does

  • No tool reliably makes a finished, fun game from one prompt. Expect a plan and several build steps.
  • None of them work on a phone alone — Studio needs a Windows PC or a Mac.
  • None can promise your game will earn Robux. That depends on the game and on players.

A workflow that works with any tool

Plan → build the core loop in grey blocks → one feature per prompt, tested in Play → theme and UI → game passes → publish. The full version is in how to make a Roblox game with AI, and a hands-on example is our tycoon tutorial.

FAQ

What is the best free AI for Roblox Studio?

Roblox's own Assistant, built into Studio, is the only option with no subscription at all, though it has usage limits. ChatGPT and Claude free tiers can also write Luau that you paste in yourself.

Is there an AI that makes a whole Roblox game?

Studio agents such as Rateblox, Lemonade, Ropilot and Superbullet can build most of a small game, but in steps, not from one prompt. Expect to plan, test each step in Play and make design decisions yourself.

Do AI tools for Roblox Studio work on Mac?

Most do, because Roblox Studio runs on Mac. Check each tool: some desktop apps are Windows-only. Rateblox works on Windows and Mac because it runs in the browser plus a Studio plugin.
